Nagpur. 7,000 police personnel have been deployed in the city during the winter session session of the Vidhansabha starting from Monday. From Vidhan Bhavan to Ravi Bhavan, MLA Hostel, Morcha Point, Morcha Route and temporary jail, police will be deployed at every nook and corner of all potentially sensitive places. On Saturday, all senior officers including City Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar and Co-Commissioner Aswati Dorje reviewed the police arrangements. On Sunday, Director General of Police Rajneesh Singh will review the settlement system.
Security and link of CM, DCM
The police has geared up to prevent any kind of disturbance regarding security during the winter session session. A high level meeting was held between senior officers and necessary instructions were issued. At the same time, the security of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has been tightened more than before. Apart from the two main buildings in the Vidhan Bhavan complex, security has been increased at Ramgiri, the official residence of Chief Minister Shinde, and Devagiri, the official residence of Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis. No one will be given entry at these three places without photo ID.
Force One-QRT also deployed
City Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar told that the security of MMA Hostel and Nag Bhavan will also be very strict. There will be deployment of armed police personnel for 24 hours. Along with this, senior officers will always keep an eye. Apart from these, a three-tier security arrangement has been made for Vidhan Bhavan to deal with any kind of terrorist activity. For this, Force One, Quick Response Team (QRT) and armed police personnel have been deployed. All the campuses have been kept under 24-hour surveillance through CCTV cameras. A special control room has been set up for this. For complete security arrangements, 600 vehicles have been made available to the police personnel.
7 companies of SRPF, 1000 home guards
CP said that apart from city and state police, 7 companies of State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) and 1000 home guards have also been deployed. Apart from these, 6 teams of anti-riot police, 7 teams of QRT, anti-riot armored vehicles, water canal vehicle, dog squad, BDDS etc. will also be alert for 24 hours. The weekly holidays of all police personnel have been postponed till January 3. Arrangements have been made for women police officers from other districts to stay in the Lakadganj Police Quarters. Arrangements have been made for male police officers to stay at New Sarai at Bada Tajbagh, Police Colony at New Kamathi, Police Training Center and Tirpude College. This time permission has been granted for 63 morchas, 20 dharnas and some other protests in the session.
