The wall of Army Officers Colony Gaur Enclave in Dilkushan of Cantt area of Lucknow collapsed due to the rain that has been going on for three days. Nine people of two families died after being buried under the rubble of the wall. Everyone used to work there under the wall under construction. During this, a gruesome sight also appeared. Here the mother was buried under the wall. His feet were visible. The hand of a girl was also visible, in which there was a broken toy. When the debris was removed, the baby girl was seen wrapped around her mother’s chest. Both had died. The laborers were also badly buried under the debris. Someone’s head was under the bricks, while someone’s stomach was lying on the wall. This gruesome sight was seen by the SDRF team during the rescue of the wall collapse in Dilkusha.
There is a Gaur enclave of military officers in Dilkusha, where more than 150 officers live. Due to heavy rains, the wall of the enclave collapsed on the shelter of the workers adjacent to the wall late on Thursday night.
Nine people died in the accident. The SDRF team rescued a laborer and took him to the Civil Hospital, where his operation lasted for about three hours.
SDRF Commandant Satish Kumar said that the accident happened at around 2.30 pm. SDRF got the information at 4.30 am. There was mud due to rain and the rescue was not easy due to the forest.
The team reached at five o’clock and the rescue started. The debris of the wall was removed and the bodies were taken out on stretchers and taken to the hospital by ambulance. It took about three hours to complete the rescue. 30 SDRF personnel were involved in this.
