‘Volvo XC40’ facelift model launched: SUV starting price of ₹ 43.20 lakh, will compete with BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA and Audi Q3 A to Z Counsel

Volvo Cars has launched the updated model of ‘Volvo XC40’ in India with a starting price of Rs 43.20 Lakh. This hybrid car that runs on both petrol and electric will get helpful safety features. The system will immediately send an alert to the driver as soon as he enters the wrong lane. New updates have been made to the exterior and interior of this mid-life electric vehicle. The company also made some updates to the ‘Volvo XC90’ along with the XC40.

13 km mileage
The SUV with a mileage of 13 kmpl has a top speed of 180 kmph. On the electric vehicle also, the company claimed that it will run 418 km in a single charge. This luxury sub-compact SUV will accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.9 seconds.

The XC40 competes against BMW X1 (₹41.50 Lakh to ₹43.50 Lakh), Mercedes-Benz GLA (₹44.90 Lakh), Mini Countryman (₹42 Lakh to ₹46 Lakh) and Audi Q3 (₹44.89 Lakh to ₹50.39 Lakh) As seen.

The previous model of Volvo XC40 was priced at Rs 44.50 lakh. Volvo launched this model with a price tag of Rs 43.20 lakh. This price is limited till the festival season only. At the end of the season, the car will be sold for Rs 45.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

2.0L turbo-petrol engine
The XC40 will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to a 48v integrated starter-generator motor. The powertrain will produce 197hp and 300Nm of peak torque. The engine is also clubbed with an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. With this, all Volvo vehicles in India will now get a mild-hybrid powertrain system. You will also be able to take the feel of open skis in the car.

LED lamps inspired by ‘Thor’
The front lamps will look a bit more angular. Inspired by the hammer of Hollywood movie ‘Thor’, the LED daytime running lamp has been redesigned. The front bumper was covered with an angular crease and updated fog lamps. Plain looking 5-spoke alloy wheels will give a simple feel.

Ford Blue and Sage Green color options
The front end gets several changes along with the bold and expressive Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) body design. But, there are no changes on the rear end as well. Two color combinations of fjord blue and sage green have definitely been removed.

Minor changes to the interior
New wooden trim will be available on the dashboard and doors. Google’s Android operating system was added to the infotainment system. Voice-control Google Assistant, Google-Play Store, Google Map and different Google services will give the user a smartphone-like experience. There are also OTA updates in the system.

Interior Advanced Air Purifier with 2.5 PM Filter, Wired Apple Car-Play, 14-speaker Harman Kardon Sound System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Pilot Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind-spot Monitoring, Rear Cross with Forward and Rear Collision Mitigation Traffic alert system will also be available.

Infotainment Update in XC90
Apart from the XC40, the company has also updated the infotainment system of its flagship SUV, the XC90. 94.90 lakh, the price of this car has been increased by one lakh rupees from the previous model. For now, new systems have been added to the XC40 and XC90 only. The XC90 will also get three new color options of Bright Dusk, Denim Blue and Platinum Grey.
