The roof of a house collapsed in the Jangambadi locality of Dashashwamedh police station area of Varanasi late on Thursday evening with a loud explosion. In the incident, all the belongings of the house and the people present were buried under the debris. Neighbors reached the spot after hearing the sound of the blast. After giving information to the police, relief and rescue operations were started immediately. Three people were pulled out safely from the debris. They have got minor injuries. An elderly woman is missing. There is a possibility of being buried under the debris.
Police and fire brigade teams are engaged in rescue work. There is an outcry on the spot. According to the neighbors, the explosion was so strong that it felt like a bomb had exploded. There is a lot of commotion at the scene.
The house in which this incident took place is very old. A total of 17 people lived in the house. Only four people were present in the house at the time of the accident. The reason for the incident is not clear. There is a possibility of accident due to explosion in the cylinder. The news is being updated.
