In Danganj Cholapur of Varanasi, the eyes of thieves and robbers are on the goldsmiths. Goldsmiths are falling prey to criminals in Cholapur every day. Recently, a few days after the bike and jewelery of Hajipur businessman Ramashankar Seth was looted in Sihulia, the Cholapur police has again been challenged. Thieves made away with two lakh cash and five lakh jewelery by breaking the shutter in the shop of jeweler Abhishek Seth at Bela Godown, a short distance from Hajipur. The thieves took away the cupboard itself.
There is anger among goldsmiths due to the incident. Swarnakar Sangh reached out to the aggrieved party. Jitendra Seth, District President of Swarnakar Sangh, said that due to the criminal incidents happening against Swarnakars, questions are being raised on the working style of the Cholapur police. Jewelery businessman Abhishek Seth told that he had gone home in the evening after closing the shop. When the theft was reported in the morning, he reached the shop in a hurry. Where the thieves broke the shutter of the shop and took away the cupboard full of jewelery and cash. A broken empty almirah was found in a mustard field at some distance from the incident.
On information, Cholapur police reached the spot and dog squad was called. When the dog squad reached some distance from the spot, work was going on at a person’s place. Where four-five laborers were working. Police has taken four people into custody in this case. Here Swarnakar Sangh said that Cholapur police is inactive. Till one incident is not revealed, the question is being raised on the police if another incident happens.
