Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin unveiled the statue of Tamil poet Subrahmanyam Bharathi through video conferencing. During the program organized on the 141st birth anniversary of the great poet, Tamil Nadu CM paid tribute. Organized in the presence of the Tamil community, there was an influx of people paying homage at Hanuman Ghat, the residence of the great poet.

On Sunday morning, Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met the family members of the great poet and paid tribute. After this, at 10:45 the CM of Tamil Nadu joined through video conferencing. He unveiled the statue of the great poet at his protected residence.

Tamil Nadu government renovated for 18 lakhs

Mahakavi’s granddaughter Jayanti told that CM Stalin had announced last year that the house where Subrahmanyam Bharati used to live would be renovated. For this, a part of the migration site was renovated by the state government at a cost of Rs 18 lakh, where the library is established today. A new statue of the great poet was installed there, which was unveiled by the CM on his birth anniversary.

The birth anniversary of Mahakavi Subramaniam Bharati was celebrated in the form of Indian Language Festival in the faculties of Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth. On Sunday, Indian Language Festival was organized in the Department of Education, National Service Scheme and Faculty of Student Welfare, Department of Political Science, Department of Modern Indian Language and Madan Mohan Malviya Institute of Hindi Journalism.

A seminar and poetry reading was organized on the occasion of Indian Language Day at the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Education, Sarnath. Pro. Dharmadutt Chaturvedi said that Sanskrit is the mother of all the languages ​​of India and it is necessary for all of us to know at least two languages. Only then the concept of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat can be fulfilled.

Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Sunday met KV Krishnan, nephew of Mahakavi Subramaniam Bharathi, and his family members. He said, the life, thoughts and writings of the great poet will always inspire generations to come. The Foreign Minister reached Hanuman Ghat and said that this house is a center of knowledge and a holy pilgrimage. Subrahmanyam Bharti’s writings on social justice and women empowerment are relevant even today.

Mahakavi Bharti was introduced to spirituality and nationalism in Kashi itself. The Foreign Minister honored his nephew KV Krishnan by giving him Angavastram and inquired about his well-being. Expressed happiness by meeting Jayanti, Hema, Ravi and Santosh among the family members of the great poet and inquired about their condition. For some time, I also saw the memento of the great poet in the courtyard. During this, Divisional Commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma was also present.
