Police arrested son-in-law Arvind Gupta, accused of triple murder in Milkipur village of Varanasi, from Rajatalab area on Saturday. The son-in-law had beaten his wife Pooja, mother-in-law Rani Gupta and brother-in-law Mohan Gupta to death on suspicion of illicit relationship. Before arrest, he was in the mood to surrender in the court.

Additional Police Commissioner Crime and Headquarters Santosh Kumar Singh said that the arrested accused Arvind Gupta accepted his crime. During interrogation, he told that he killed his wife on the suspicion of illicit relationship. The incident took place on Monday night. The bodies of all three were found on Thursday.

First attacked the mother-in-law, killed the wife and brother-in-law who came to save her

On the day of the incident, he reached his in-laws house on Monday late evening. The children were sleeping at that time. First hit the mother-in-law in the gallery with the bamboo. Then he hit wife Pooja, who came to his mother’s rescue, on her head with a bamboo. She fainted in the courtyard itself. Hearing the screams, brother-in-law Mohan came, then he was also attacked with bamboo. DCP Gomti Zone Vikrant Veer told that during interrogation, Arvind told that the incident was carried out on Monday night itself. After this, he reached Vandepur in Rohaniya to his home with the children. After dropping the kids home, he stayed at a close friend’s place in Mirzapur.
