The police team of Varanasi Commissionerate, which killed two miscreants in an encounter two months ago, was rewarded with a cash reward of Rs five lakh on Friday. Under this, the maximum prize of Rs 75-75 thousand was given to surveillance in-charge Inspector Anjani Kumar Pandey and Inspector Bargaon Ashwani Kumar Chaturvedi.
At the same time, Lohta SO Rajkumar Pandey and Chitaipur SO Brijesh Mishra have received a prize of Rs 50,000 each. Apart from this, a cash reward of Rs 38-38 thousand has been given to two policemen, Rs 15-15 thousand to two policemen and Rs 12-12 thousand to 12 policemen.
The miscreants looted the pistol after shooting the inspector
Last year, on the evening of November 8, in Darekhu village of Rohania area, miscreants shot dead Ajay Yadav, the inspector of Laxa police station, and looted the official pistol. In the investigation started under the leadership of the then Police Commissioner A. Satish Ganesh, three real brothers, residents of Golwa of Mohaddipur police station in Samastipur district of Bihar, were identified as the perpetrators of the incident.
