Lucknow : There has been a massive improvement in power supply in UP since CM Yogi took over the reins of the state. Not only in winter but also in summer, when the demand for electricity is manifold, arrangements have been made for maximum power supply in all areas of the state. However, this summer will see even more improvement in power supply. In compliance with the intention and instructions of Chief Minister Yogi, there should be no shortage of power availability in the state in the coming summer and all the areas of the state get adequate power according to the fixed schedule, for this Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation manages electricity from other states of the country through banking. Efforts are being made on a war footing to make arrangements for electricity through compromise. UPPCL has achieved tremendous success in this campaign. For the first time in the history of the state, agreements have been made for 249.29 million units with Jammu and Kashmir, 61.56 million units with Tamil Nadu. An agreement is proposed with Karnataka. Compared to last year’s electricity banking of 449.6 million units from Rajasthan, 1967.8 million units (almost four times) have been done this year by making efforts.
Soon there will be more agreements with the states
This step taken by the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation on the instructions of CM Yogi is likely to have far-reaching results. Through this, UPPCL has got success in this endeavor of power banking from Kashmir to Kanya Kumari. Power banking agreements have been signed with Jammu Kashmir, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Also such agreements are proposed with Karnataka and NTPC.

What is Power Banking?
Power banking means that in those months when the availability of power is more in the state and the demand is less, then the surplus power of the state is given to those states where the demand for power is more. In summer, when the demand for electricity increases in Uttar Pradesh and electricity is very expensive in the power exchange, at that time electricity is returned without purchase from those states where electricity has been given earlier through electricity banking.
