Lucknow: After receiving more investment proposals than expected in the Global Investors Summit, the Yogi Government of Uttar Pradesh will now organize the first Ground Breaking Ceremony within six months. Work on investment projects worth more than Rs 16 lakh crore can be started in the first ground breaking itself. Instructions have been given to senior officers to monitor every MoU, giving the responsibility of getting the investment on the ground to the senior ministers of the state government. In view of the amount of investment, the Chief Minister has also announced the formation of an Investment Implementation Unit. This unit will be set up in every department where a secretary level officer will be its head. The unit will be responsible for the implementation of every MoU signed by its department.
Senior officers of the level of Special Secretary and above will be given the responsibility of monitoring sector wise or investment proposal wise. A call center will soon be made operational to assist foreign investors. He says that work can start immediately on 13,000 MoUs worth more than Rs 16 lakh crore received during GIS. In case of these MoUs the investors are ready to start work immediately. Along with this, MoU has been signed for 99 projects worth Rs 2.80 lakh crore on the basis of private public partnership (PPP). The priority of the government will be to bring them on the ground first.

Instructions issued to District Magistrates
Instructions have been given to all development authorities and district magistrates for the availability of necessary land for the projects. Identifying sick units, a policy will be prepared regarding their utility. In case the units’ land is on prime location, they will be used for new projects. After the success of GIS, the Chief Minister called for the implementation of the MoU with the officers of all the departments. It was said in the meeting that work on 34 industrial proposals worth Rs 3.90 lakh crore would start within two years.

He said that within the next six months the state government would organize ground breaking ceremony in August where emphasis would be on starting work on maximum number of projects. 782 investment proposals worth Rs 4.11 lakh crore have been received from the country’s big industrial houses, whose implementation should be started in a time-bound manner. Emphasizing on maintaining constant contact with the investors and quick resolution of their problems, the Chief Minister said that every MoU should be reviewed from time to time. For the convenience of the investors, under the Mukhya Mantri Udyami Mitra Yojana, Udyami Mitras will be deployed soon. At least 25 entrepreneur friends will be deployed in 10 development and industrial authorities at the national level. Apart from this, at least one entrepreneur friend will be deployed in every district.
