Lucknow: The Government of Uttar Pradesh (UP Govt.) is continuously working with the resolve to make Ganga clean and pure. In such a situation, good results have been seen in the ongoing ‘Namami Gange Project’ with the resolve to make Ganga and its tributaries uninterrupted and clean. In the UP Global Investors Summit-2023 also, an MoU worth one thousand crore has been signed between the Government of Denmark and the Government of Uttar Pradesh regarding the cleaning of Ganga and its tributary river Varuna. The Danish government will set up a Smart River Laboratory in Varanasi to clean the Ganges.
This MoU was signed between Dan Jørgensen, Minister of Denmark and Swatantra Dev Singh, Minister of Jal Shakti, Government of Uttar Pradesh, during the Danish Partner Session during GIS-2023 organized in Vrindavan scheme. Meanwhile, Denmark’s Global Climate Policy Minister Dan Jorgensen said that India is emerging as the world’s biggest power, while Uttar Pradesh has become India’s power. Not only this, we want to work together with UP under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Speaking about India-Denmark Green Strategic Partnership, he said that this partnership sets direction on the basis of scale, skills, speed, scope and sustainability. Denmark has been working in India in areas like energy, food, software. He said that the project of rejuvenation of Ganga’s tributaries especially Varuna river in Varanasi will definitely give new life to the people there. Along with cleaning the water of the rivers, our government is constantly working to provide water to every household through the Jal Jeevan Mission. The Prime Minister of Denmark also appreciated the efforts being made by India regarding the Jal Jeevan Mission.
