In the Super Specialty Block of BRD Medical College, the case of operating a patient without making him unconscious has come to light. It is alleged that the doctor performed the operation by tying the hands and legs of the woman. Meanwhile the patient kept on screaming, but the doctor did not listen. She fainted from pain. When the condition worsened, the doctor gave him medicine through injection.

According to the information, Neelam Gupta, a resident of Maya Bazar, had 8.6 mm stone in her urinary tract. The relatives brought Urologist Dr. Pawan Kumar of the Medical College to SK for treatment. According to Neelam, the doctor told about the operation through binocular method. Eight thousand rupees were also given to get it from outside. On November 21, the doctor operated on her unconscious. But, there was no relief from the pain.

Second ultrasound found a stone of 8.1 mm. The doctor called the medical college and took him to the operation theatre. It is alleged that the hands and legs were tied on the bed. On protesting, it was said that this is the process of investigation. After this, without making him unconscious, he started breaking the stones by inserting binoculars in the urine tube. It was extremely painful.

Left the operation theater and complained to her husband. But, he took them home. Meanwhile the pain did not subside. After getting the ultrasound done for the third time, it was found that there is no stone, but there is a wound near the urine tube. Because of this there is pain. The patient is now being treated in a private hospital.

Dr. Pawan Kumar SK, who performed the operation, told that the allegation of tying hands and feet is baseless. The patient was not sedated before the operation. Because, the patient did not have to undergo stone operation. Neither was major surgery. It was a minor surgery. It does not require sedation.

The patient’s stone was broken, its sawdust and filings had accumulated in the urinary tract, which had to be removed. He has only two days duty in the operation theatre. So immediate minor surgery was done to remove the sawdust. This was nothing new. Several women have surgeries done this way a week.

Principal of BRD Medical College, Dr. Ganesh Kumar said that the information about the case has not been received. Nor have any complaints been received regarding this. If a complaint is received in writing, the matter will be investigated. Anesthesia is needed before major surgery. In minor surgeries, the patient is not sedated. As for getting machines from outside by taking money, there is no such system in BRD.
