Trains will start running between Dohrighat to Indara from March. The gauge conversion work on this 35 km long railway section is now in the final stage. The program of inspection of the Chief Safety Commissioner (CRS) is proposed in February.
With the running of express and passenger trains on this route, the people of Gorakhpur Dakshinanchal will be connected to the rail service and the journey to Mau, Ghazipur, Varanasi will be easy.
In the year 2016-17, Ministry of Railways had approved the gauge conversion at a cost of 213 crores. Trains will run at a speed of 110 km per hour on this railway section. According to the plan, two major bridges have been built and 23 minor bridges are being prepared.
12 subways will be made for the movement of villagers. Its work is also in the final stages. Passenger and express trains will be run after the gauge conversion is made on the railway section. While this will provide convenience to the passengers, the transportation of parcels will also become easier. Now people have to come to Gorakhpur for the train.
