Reservation has been announced for civic body elections, but on filing a petition in the High Court, the court is hearing the case. The matter will be heard on Wednesday as well. After the decision is taken in the matter, a notification regarding the municipal elections will be issued.
It has been decided from when the tenure of the mayor and councilors will be counted. The tenure will be counted from the first sitting of the House after the swearing-in. The result of the last municipal election win-loss came on December 1, 2017. After that the swearing-in took place on 12 December 2017. After the swearing in, the first meeting of the Municipal Corporation House was held on 19th January. Like Lucknow, the oath was taken everywhere in the state on December 12, 2017, but after that the first meeting of the House was held in January 2018 on different dates. Administrator period will be applicable from January 20
