SP has stepped up preparations to establish a foothold in states other than UP. To become a national party, a strategy has been chalked out to contest elections in more and more states. In this sequence, workers’ conferences will also be organized in all the states. The party’s strategy is that apart from UP, the party has got success in Maharashtra as well. Similarly, if MLAs are elected in other states also, it can be beneficial in the Lok Sabha elections.
Under this strategy, the party has now fielded candidates in Gujarat as well. Out of 182 seats here, the party has fielded candidates for 30 seats, but papers of 10 candidates have been rejected due to different reasons. Now the party’s candidates are in the fray for 20 seats. Party’s Gujarat state president Devendra Upadhyay told that the outgoing MLA Kandhalbhai Jadeja is in the fray from SP this time on Kutiyana seat. Similarly, the party is a strong contender on other seats including Abdasa, Tezpur, Tezpur, Patan, Amrai Bari.

Target of 50 seats in Madhya Pradesh
The SP will contest on all the 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh, but a strategy has been chalked out to contest the elections firmly on 50 seats here. District level workers’ conferences have started here, in which leaders of UP are also being sent. State General Secretary of Madhya Pradesh Dr. Manoj Yadav told that the number of Yadav-Muslims and other backward castes is more in 50 seats. These seats are also adjacent to the border of UP. The SP has been getting public support here earlier also. That’s why preparations are being made here at the micro level.
Preparation in other states including Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh
SP has been continuously contesting elections in Maharashtra. The party’s MLAs and MPs are also here. On the lines of Maharashtra, instructions have been given to party leaders in other states including Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh to speed up election preparations.
