Sonbhadra: In Sonbhadra district’s Obra area, the police have arrested a Muslim youth on charges of physically assaulting and raping a Hindu girl by changing her name. Police sources, quoting the recorded report, said on Tuesday that the complaint was given on behalf of the father of the alleged victim. In the FIR, the victim’s father has alleged that a youth named Sonu Ansari changed his name to S.K. By telling Sonu, he got acquainted with his daughter and then raped her on the pretext of marriage. According to the complaint, Sonu promised to marry her.

Police sources said that Sonu proposed marriage in front of the girl’s family as well and told his name as Sonu Ansari’s son Shafiq. According to him, knowing the real name of the young man, the girl started crying and she told her family members that Sonu had given her his name S.K. Sonu and himself were told of the Hindu community.
Sources said that on the complaint of the father, the police registered a case against the accused youth and started searching for him. He told that on Tuesday morning the accused youth Sonu Ansari was arrested from near his house. the matter is being investigated. (agency)
