Lucknow: The Yogi government has given great relief to the differently-abled of Uttar Pradesh. Under the Mukhyamantri Avas Yojana, now Divyangjan will also be included in the priority category by making a separate category. That is, now the differently-abled will get more priority in the houses given under the Chief Minister’s Housing Scheme. A mandate has also been issued by the Uttar Pradesh government in this regard. In the mandate sent to the Rural Development Commissioner, it has been clearly stated that this benefit will be given to the persons with disabilities at the residences of rural areas.
It is worth noting that on the lines of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Yogi Adityanath had started the Chief Minister Awas Yojana in the state in 2018. Under this, pucca houses are provided to the poor and families living in kutcha houses, giving them relief. In this episode, the Yogi government is soon going to provide 35.5 thousand houses.

According to the mandate issued by Sudhindra Kumar, Special Secretary, Uttar Pradesh Government, it has been said that such disabled families of rural areas of the state, who are homeless or are residing in kutcha or dilapidated houses. It has been decided to include them among the eligible persons in sub-paragraph 3.4 of the primary category of eligibility as prescribed by February 2, 2018. It has been said that the categories of persons with disabilities shall be the same as defined in the Schedule to the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 and the eligibility for disability shall be the same as mentioned in section 2 (d) of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. In 2018, the government had prepared a priority list under the scheme. Many classes, communities, castes and tribes were given place in it.

He said that the Rural Development Department makes a preliminary list after surveying the applications, after which there is a provision to provide housing. It is noteworthy that the Uttar Pradesh government had distributed 1.08 lakh houses under this scheme in the first term, out of which 1.06 lakh houses have been completed. At the same time, preparations are being made to provide 35.5 thousand houses soon. In this way, the Yogi government has made sure to provide 1.44 lakh houses under this scheme so far.
