UP Covid Update: KGMU and Jims Noida will do genome sequencing, sample centers will be built in every district A to Z Counsel

If Kovid patients increase in the state, KGMU and Jims Noida will do genome sequencing. Then the number of labs will be increased as per the need. Samples of genome sequencing reach the lab quickly, for this separate centers will be set up in every district.

Special Secretary Medical Education Durgashakti Nagpal said that after the new variant of corona virus was found in Gujarat and Odisha, preparations have been intensified at every level. If the number of patients increases, then apart from KGMU and GIMS Noida, investigation will be started in other medical institutions as well.

Instructions have been given to other medical colleges including SGPGI, Lohia Institute to prepare. Nodal officers will also be nominated in the districts. These officers will be responsible for sending samples from the district to the lab and getting the reports. The department believes that if a new variant is found in genome sequencing, it will help in controlling it immediately.

Preparation instructions to hospitals
Director General of Health Dr. Lily Singh said that instructions have been given to all CMOs and CMS that the Kovid hospitals built last time will be kept reserved this time also. Right now the treatment of patients should continue, but as soon as the number of Kovid patients increases, then the concerned hospital should be converted into Kovid hospital. Instructions have also been given to keep manpower, medicines and other resources in order.
