UP Board’s high school and intermediate schools will now be recognized for the first three years. Later it will be renewed for five years keeping in view the compliance of recognition conditions and arrangements in the school. This standard is prescribed in the terms of the new recognition approved by the government.
Earlier there was a provision in the on-site inspection for recognition that the DIOS would stand in front of the building and get photographs of themselves and the building attached to the report. Now the district committee will conduct a detailed inspection. Videography, photography of school building, laboratory, playground, boundary wall, library etc. will be done by the committee at the time of inspection. It will be uploaded on the Council’s website. Apart from this, in the new conditions, the student-teacher ratio in the school will not exceed 40:01. It will be mandatory to have one teacher for each subject. An account of the tuition fee charged by the school will be maintained. At least 70 percent of the tuition fee will be spent on the emoluments of academic and other personnel. Apart from this, now the attendance of teachers, students will have to be recorded on the website/portal of the Board on every working day.

Apart from email, phone number, details of basic facilities like building, number of rooms, computers, games, library, lights, fans etc. will be given on the website of the school. The details of teachers along with qualification, class-wise number of students, number of girl students, each year’s examination result and fee details will also have to be displayed. Submersible for water, RO, piped drinking water, overhead tank, handwash platform, different height platforms will have to be arranged according to the length of children of different age groups. Apart from separate toilets for boys and girls, special arrangements will have to be made for the differently-abled.
Earlier according to the number of students there was a condition of hand pump or any other proper arrangement only for toilet and drinking water. Now the recognition can be given even on registered lease deed of 30 years. Many other standards have also changed.
