Lucknow: The Yogi Government of Uttar Pradesh has successfully concluded the campaign started to make the UP Board Exams cheating-free. It was the result of the Yogi government’s campaign that for the first time in 30 years, in the board examinations that were held on March 5, no examination had to be canceled and no re-examination had to be conducted. The preparations and security of these examinations conducted in the entire state were kept so tight that there was not a single incident of question papers going viral before the examination. Not only this, the number of students found cheating in the examination was also very less. At the same time, in some cases of Heelahwali, FIRs were also lodged against students, room invigilators, principals, managers and others.

It is notable that a lot of preparation was done towards the Yogi government to make the examinations cheating-free. Monitoring of sensitive examination centers was done with the help of UP STF. In Lucknow, each examination center was monitored from two state-level control rooms, while 3 lakh cameras also contributed significantly in conducting cheating-free examinations.

According to Divyakant Shukla, Secretary, Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Council, the preparations made this time have yielded good results. In view of the security of the question papers, for the first time this year, the packaging of the question papers was done in four layered tempered proof envelopes keeping in view all the safety standards. Due to this, there was no incident of wrong opening of question papers and their going viral. Apart from this, there was no incident of mass copying, wrong opening of question papers, question papers being made viral, due to which no situation has arisen in the history of last thirty years to re-conduct the examination this year. He said that the security arrangements made, the preparations made including monitoring, their results were very effective and they could successfully conduct copy-free examinations.

FIR lodged against 85 people

According to Divyakant Shukla, a total of 58 lakh 85 thousand 745 students had registered for the examinations this time. Of these, there were 3116487 students of high school, while 2769258 students of intermediate were involved. However, a total of 5454174 students (2907533 students of high school and 2546640 students of intermediate) appeared for the exam. A total of 431571 students (208953 students of high school and 222618 students of intermediate) remained absent in the examinations. If we talk about the examinees who were caught using unfair means, then a total of 81 students were involved in this. 51 (32 boys and 19 girls) were found cheating in high school while 30 (22 boys and 8 girls) were found cheating in intermediate. Not only this, FIR action was also taken against 85 people. 133 pseudo-students were found, many of whom were let off with warnings. While FIR was lodged against 3 room inspectors, 6 principals or center administrators, 4 managers and 14 others.

elaborate arrangements were made

This time concrete arrangements were made to make the examinations copy-free. For the maintenance of question papers, the strong room was kept in a secure room other than the Principal’s room. The responsibility of opening and closing it was given to the Static Magistrate appointed at the examination center designated by the District Magistrate for the first time. For the first time in 2023, the QR code and the logo of the Board of Secondary Education were placed on the answer sheets. Along with this, stitched answer sheets were prepared for the first time in all the districts. For the first time this year, 632 visiting teams of officers were formed for night monitoring of strong rooms for the security of question papers and strong rooms of all 8753 examination centers were inspected a total of 28716 times.

These arrangements were also made

  • CCTV cameras with voice recorders, DVR router devices and high-speed internet connections have been provided in about 1.43 lakh examination rooms of all examination centers and about 3 lakh in the campus.
  • Live monitoring through web casting of all 8,753 examination centers in all 75 districts and through control and monitoring centers at the state level.
  • STF and LIU were activated to monitor all the sensitive and hyper sensitive exam centres.
  • For the first time in high school, the examination of multiple choice questions of 20 marks was conducted on OMR sheet.
