Mumbai. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Friday said that the main conspirators and planners of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks are still safe and have not been punished.
Speaking at a special meeting on “Combating the Use of New and Emerging Technologies for Terrorist Purposes” here, he said that when it comes to sanctioning certain terrorists, in some cases the UN Security Council “for political reasons, Regretfully” unable to act.
“The main conspirators and planners of the 26/11 terror attacks are still safe and have not been punished,” he said. Jaishankar said that this situation undermines collective credibility and collective interest. Jaishankar, accompanied by Gabon’s Foreign Minister and UN Security Council President Michael Moses, paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the 26/11 terror attack at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel here. Jaishankar said the “shocking” terror attack was not only a terrorist attack on Mumbai but on the international community.
