Mumbai: MLA Pratap Sarnaik has got a big relief in the Top Security Scam. Mumbai Police has submitted a closure report in the court in the top security scam, in which Sarnaik has been given a clean chit. Another leader has escaped from police custody. Now all eyes are on the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Will Pratap Sarnaik also get a clean chit in money laundering case from ED?
The Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of Mumbai Police, which is probing the top security scam, submitted the closure report in the court. It said that there is not enough evidence to substantiate the charge against Pratap Sarnaik. Based on this report, the accused arrested in the top security scam have applied in the court against the action of the ED.
No point in ED’s registered case
Amit Chandole and Sasidharan, former directors of Top Security, have filed an acquittal against the police custody in the court. Amit Chandole, who is in ED custody, is close to Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik. In this case, the Magistrate Court has accepted the ‘Sea Summary’ report presented by the EOW. It has been claimed in the petition that the case registered by the ED has no meaning.

Scam in contract to supply security guards
In 2014, Top Group was awarded the contract to supply 350 to 500 security guards to MMRDA. A former employee of the company had complained that there was a mistake regarding this security guard contract and Pratap Sarnaik and Amit Chandole took financial advantage of it. The ED has arrested M. Sasidharan, former managing director of Top Group. The ED had raided the house and office of MLA Sarnaik and questioned the family members.
