Wealth destruction: Gayatri Projects Ltd Stock has caused huge losses to investors in one year. The stock of Gayatri Projects has lost nearly 80 per cent in the last one year. In comparison, the Sensex has gained 0.69 per cent during this period. Microcap stock which closed at Rs 53.40 on 21st September 2021 fell to Rs 10.63 on 22nd September 2022.

On September 21, 2021, investment of Rs 1 lakh in Gayatri Projects stock declined to Rs 20,403 today amid a fall in the global market. Gayatri Projects’ stake has declined by 64.29 per cent since the beginning of this year. The stock has lost 14.55 per cent in a week. However, after five sessions of decline, the infrastructure firm’s stock has risen today. The stock rose 16 per cent to Rs 10.35 on the NSE today.

Gayatri Projects trading is lower than 5-day, 20-day, 50-day, 100-day and 200-day moving averages. The company’s market cap rose to Rs 204 crore on BSE today. Of these, 53,403 public shareholders held 24.83 per cent with capital up to Rs 2 lakh. For the quarter ended June 2022, only 52 shareholders with 8.26 per cent stake had a capital of more than Rs 2 lakh. 18 foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) held 1.32 crore shares or 7.09 per cent stake in the first quarter of the current fiscal. The firm reported a loss of Rs 391.90 crore in the June quarter, as against a net profit of Rs 22.91 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.
