Nalini Sriharan said, ‘I have come to meet my family members. My family, my daughter, my husband’s family are all waiting for me. Wherever my Navra goes, I will go with him. We are 32 years apart. Our family members are waiting for us. Regarding the Gandhi family, Nalini Sriharan said, ‘I have no intention of meeting Sadhya Rahul, Priyanka or anyone from the Gandhi family.’
‘Will not go into public life’
After coming out of prison, Nalini said, ‘This is a new life for me and I will never again participate in public life.’ Nalini was in prison for the last 32 years. After coming out of Vellore prison in Tamil Nadu, she said, ‘My new life comes with my husband and daughter. I will not participate in public life. I would like to thank the Tamil people for supporting me for more than 30 years.

The bold order or plea of not guilty to release AG Perarivalnala, another convict in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, is applicable, the Supreme Court has said. The Supreme Court on Friday directed for the premature release of Nalini Sriharan and five other convicts, who were undergoing education at birth for almost three decades in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case.

Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi would have been assassinated by a female suicide bomber during an election rally at Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu on 21st day of 1919. Apart from Nalini, her husband V. Sriharan alias Murugan, R.P. Orders would have been given to release Ravichandran, Santhan, Robert Payas and Jayakumar. Sriharan, Santhan, Robert and Jayakumar are Sri Lankan citizens, while Nalini and Ravichandran are from Tamil Nadu.
