Ghaziabad’s Indirapuram police station on Friday busted such a call center in Gyankhand-2 from where foreigners were being duped. The center was being run by 10th pass vicious Vijay Talwar.
His interrogation revealed that he and his gang had duped 500 foreigners of Rs 12 crore in the name of software updates and troubleshooting of computers.
A total of 14 people have been arrested by the police from the call centre. All are 10th-12th pass. He has done an English speaking course. While calling for fraud, he calls himself a computer expert.
Vijay Talwar told the police that he has been running this business of cheating for a long time. He had learned the tricks of clearing people’s accounts from his colleague Piyush Gupta. After this, he formed his own gang and started cheating by opening a call center.
