The dead body of Bijnor’s dreaded criminal Munir Mehtab, who had executed the murder case of NIA Deputy SP Tanzil Ahmed and his wife Farzana, was cremated in the cemetery of his village on Tuesday. Munir was a 12th failure to say, but he used his clever mind in the world of crime in such a way that by carrying out sensational incidents in many states including UP, Delhi, he kept the police in trouble.

When Munir, who earned a name in the world of Jarayam at the age of just 25, died in Sonbhadra Jail on Monday, he was discussed among the people associated with the world of crime. Munir’s last time was accompanied by his sister, who along with his dead body reached Sahaspur village on Tuesday. There the crowd gathered to see the last glimpse of Munir’s dead body.

Munir was sentenced to death by the court in the murder of National Investigation Agency (NIA) deputy SP Tanzil Ahmed and his wife Farzana. Munir was lodged in Sonbhadra jail after his execution. His health deteriorated in jail. After which Munir was admitted to the district hospital and then to BHU.

He died during treatment on Monday. After Munir’s death, his mother and sister Dr. Sidra reached home with his dead body from Banaras at 2:55 pm. People had started gathering at the house since morning waiting for Munir’s dead body. A huge crowd reached to see Munir, who came into limelight after the Tanzil murder case. On Tuesday, Munir’s dead body was handed over to the public at around 4.30 pm after the funeral prayers.

Munir himself accepted the crime

Munir revealed during interrogation that he had looted Rs 90 lakh in Bijnor for the purpose of buying AK-47. Tanzil became aware of this and it seemed to be becoming an obstacle in his way. That’s why Tanzil was killed. Munir, in the style of the main character of the South Indian film Golmar, tells that after the murder incident, whoever comes in his way, he would definitely shoot him.

Looted as soon as money and weapons were seen without a plan

Munir also disclosed that he did not do any planning beforehand to carry out the incidents. When the mood was there, he used to loot money and weapons. He had accepted in front of the Aligarh police that he had never done any planning before to carry out any incident. If only he got the information of having weapons and money, he would have done the incident just like that.

Was involved in many other crimes

On November 29, 2014, Munir had killed the guard along with looting Rs 1.5 crore from a cash van in Delhi. In 2013, he snatched a revolver by shooting a contractor in Aligarh and in 2014 shot a GRP constable in Aligarh and snatched a pistol. He also looted Rs 91 lakh from a van in Dhampur after shooting the guard.
