In Agra, 35,000 domestic and foreign tourists visited the Taj Mahal amid chaos on Christmas holidays. All the tourists had reached amidst the fog. Till noon there was a long queue from the ticket windows to both the gates. Lapke and Hawkers also took advantage of this. Many tourists could not find the golf course.

Tourists started arriving at the Taj Mahal from seven in the morning on Sunday, but till then the Taj was visible only dimly due to the fog. From 10 am the crowd started increasing at the ticket windows. Till noon there was a long queue at the eastern and western gates. Corona screening of foreign tourists was also being done at the entry gates, due to which entry was also delayed. Golf courts were not available from Shilpgram. The tourists had to walk till the eastern gate of the Taj.

Many tourists could not get tickets even till 4 pm. They were taking advantage of it. He was selling e-tickets to tourists. William from Delhi said that he had to wait in line for an hour for tickets, followed by an hour for entry. 8,126 tourists reached Agra Fort and 2,500 tourists reached Sikri as well.

CMO took stock

In view of the crowd gathering at the Taj, the Department of Archeology has deployed personnel at both the gates of the Taj as well as at the main dome. On the other hand, in view of Corona infection, CMO Dr. Arun Srivastava reviewed the arrangements at Taj. Sanitization is also being done here. Corona investigation has also been started in Agra Fort.

Tourists gathered in Sikri on Christmas and weekend

Due to Christmas holidays and weekend, the monuments in Sikri were also crowded with tourists throughout the day. Alam was that tourists queued up for CNG buses plying from the parking lot to the monuments. Gulistan vehicle parking was filled with tourist vehicles since morning on Sunday. There was a crowd of tourists in the monuments and dargahs throughout the day.

Kovid investigation done for tourists

In view of the increasing cases of corona, the Health Department team on Sunday took samples for examination of 31 tourists at the Jodhabai booking window entrance at Sikri monuments. CHC Superintendent Dr. Abhishek Parihar said that all the samples have been sent to Agra for examination.
