Gulzari Lal Nanda completed his Masters studies from the Economics Department of Allahabad University in the year 1920 and in the year 1921, the then English teacher of the University, Prof. Started research on Indian laborers under the direction of Jevons. It was during his research that he became a professor at the National College in Mumbai and completed his research after moving to Mumbai.

When the All India Trade Union Congress (INTUC) was formed on May 3, 1947, Gulzari Lal Nanda was made the first secretary of Inter because of his research on Indian labourers. At the same time, on the death of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in the year 1964 and Lal Bahadur Shastri in 1966, he was also given the responsibility of caretaker Prime Minister for 13-13 days both times, at that time he was the Home Minister.

Historian Prof. Heramb Chaturvedi tells that he was influenced by Gandhi and his life was very simple and simple. After the formation of the Economics Society in the year 1915, Mahatma Gandhi’s lecture was organized in December 1916 at the then Mayur Central College (presently IVI’s Physics). Gulzari Lal Nanda also came to listen to Gandhi and being influenced by Gandhi’s thoughts, he chose the topic of his research.
