Slogan case in favor of Pakistan: Panic in Jahanganj due to arrest of six, some more names may come to the fore

Slogans were raised in favor of Pakistan on Thursday in Jahanganj, the newly created Nagar Panchayat of Azamgarh. In this case, the police have so far arrested six, including a possible candidate for the post of chairman of the newly created Nagar Panchayat. At the same time, the police has not ruled out any more names coming out yet. Due to which there is a stir in the town.

There was a monthly meeting of BSP on Thursday in Jahanaganj town. Pappu Khan alias Mofid Alam, the future candidate for the post of chairman of Jahanaganj Nagar Panchayat, also joined the supporters. At the end of the meeting, Mofid along with his supporters went out in the form of a procession in the streets of the town. During this, slogans were raised in support of Pakistan.

BJP leader had demanded action

The video of sloganeering went viral on social media. BJP leader Anand Gupta reached the Jahanaganj police station and demanded action against Mofid and others by giving a complaint. Taking cognizance of the video, SP Anurag Arya directed the SO to register a case immediately.

On Friday evening, besides Mofid alias Pappu, the police registered a case and arrested Mohd. Afzal, Khurshid Ahmed, Maqsood Alam, Abdul Wasid and Zubair Ahmed were arrested. All were produced before the magistrate on Saturday. From where everyone was sent to jail.

After the arrest of six, there is a stir in Jahanaganj town. The people involved in the procession are in panic. ASP City Shailendra Lal said that on the basis of the viral video, the police is still trying to identify other people. Whoever is identified in the viral video, action will be taken against him by registering a case.
