Sitapur: Former chief representative was killed by chopping his head and face, a hammer was found lying on the spot, but no blood stains were found

In village Gulauli of Mahmudabad Kotwali area, the former head representative and Kotedar were killed by cutting their head and face with sharp weapons. His body was found lying in a room outside the village. At the same time, the sleeping servant informed the relatives about the incident after seeing the dead body in the morning. On coming to know of the incident, the SP along with the police team took stock of the spot. The police have recovered a hammer from the spot but no traces of blood have been found in this hammer.

Lalla Singh (53), a resident of Gulauli, was a Kotedar. His wife Neelam Singh has been the village head in the past. On Friday night, Lalla Singh slept with his servant Kallu Verma on a bed spread on the ground in a room outside the village. When the servant Kallu woke up at around 6.30 am on Saturday morning, Lalla Singh was lying in a pool of blood and had already died.

When Kallu raised an alarm, wife Neelam Singh and widowed daughter Deepanshi, who were present in the rooms inside the house, reached the spot. Within no time, a crowd of villagers gathered on the spot. SP Ghule Sushil Chandra Bhan, Additional Superintendent of Police Narendra Pratap Singh, CO Ravi Shankar Prasad, In-charge Inspector Vijendra Singh, In-charge Inspector Virendra Singh Tomar reached the spot on the information of the incident. Servant Kallu and family members were questioned regarding the incident. The bed and safe lying in the house were also searched. The forensic team also collected necessary samples from the spot.

Police started investigation at different points
Lalla Singh was counted among the influential people of the area. Police is investigating at different points to know the reason behind the incident and to reach the killers. Sources related to the police tell that Lalla Singh also used to do the business of buying and selling land. Apart from this, people used to borrow money from him when needed. Apart from this, the police is probing the incident at some domestic points.

Kallu is less visible, was with him for eight years
Kallu Verma, a servant of Lalla Singh, is a resident of Khijna village under Baddupur police station in Barabanki district. For the last eight years, he was living with Lalla Singh in Pulauli. Kallu can see from only one eye due to which he is less able to see. According to some villagers, he is also hearing less. During interrogation, Kallu told the police that he had pressed Lalla’s feet till three o’clock in the night and then fell asleep. This means that the incident happened after three o’clock in the morning. Police is also interrogating Kallu.

Had no son, so adopted
Lalla Singh’s family has two married daughters Deepanshi and Rishu besides father Pehalwan Singh. Akshay Pratap alias Sunny has a son of 13 years. According to family members, Akshay was adopted by Lalla Singh. After the death of Deepanshi’s husband, she was staying at her maternal house while Rishu was at her in-laws’ place.
