On the occasion of Christmas, cases of conversion came to light in many areas. Police has registered a case against 15 people. 13 more people have been sent to jail. In Rampur Mathura area, women protested against the police who reached to nab the accused. Conversion cases were reported from Talgaon, Misrikh, Rampur Mathura and Tambore areas. In Talgaon, activists of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal informed the police that some outsiders had come to Lashkarpur village for religious conversion. They are converting people by luring them with job and marriage. On this SO Santosh Kumar reached the spot. There, religious conversion was being done in a house. Police detained many people and seized diaries and other books.

The SO said that a case has been registered against six people including Mukesh, Hansraj, Sonu, Shiv Kumar, Ram Bhati, Champa on the Tahrir of Mohak Singh, a resident of Mohraiya Khurd. Besides Champa, five others have been arrested. Bajrang Dal workers got information about conversion in village Bagasti situated on the banks of Saryu river in Rampur-Mathura area. Police and activists reached the spot and arrested Paikrama, Budhsagar, Seema, a resident of Police Station Hardi in District Bahraich and Ramkumar, a resident of Bachupurwa, Police Station Rampur, Mathura after reaching the conversion meeting.

According to eyewitnesses, the women sitting in the meeting protested against the police while taking the accused. However, the police caught the accused and took them away. SO Atul Kumar Tiwari told that action has been taken to send the accused to jail. A case has been registered against Mayaram, a resident of Chakpurwa area in Tambore. Two days ago, Mayaram was accused by Hinduist organization of converting many people. On coming to know about this, he fled from the spot.

Inspector Suresh Patel said that a case has been registered on the basis of Tahrir. Hundreds of women had gathered at Lavkush’s house in Gauvvapur village of Misrikh. Kanchan Singh, an activist of a Hinduist organization, alleged that people from Sandana and Misrikh were converting him. The police team reached and seized the material while taking the accused into custody. Inspector Jitendra Ojha told that action has been taken to arrest Jitendra, Ramesh, Deepu and Guddu and send them to jail.
