Scholarship to meritorious Divyangs: Rs 10.32 lakh given by Amar Ujala Foundation and Handicapped Aid Society


58 meritorious disabled students selected from 40 districts of 10 states of the country were given scholarship of Rs 10.32 lakh by Amar Ujala Foundation and Agra branch of Handicapped Aid Society on Sunday. Mr. Dorilal Agarwal National Meritorious Disabled Scholarship Ceremony was organized at JP Auditorium, Khandari Campus of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University. Meritorious Divyang students got more motivated after getting scholarship. He called this scholarship a Sanjivani to cherish himself.

Premchand Jain, secretary of Handicapped Aid Society, presented the progress report. A documentary prepared by Shailendra Narwar was screened. Joint Secretary Sunil Vikal said that last year, 125 meritorious Divyang students were given scholarship of Rs 22 lakh by the organization. District Disabled Welfare Officer Siddhant Kumar gave information regarding the schemes of the government.

Meritorious differently-abled students were also given mementoes along with cheques. Founder Secretary of the organization Dr. Virendra Kumar Gupta said that the project is progressing with the help of donors. The special guest of the function Dr. YS Kothari, who retired from the post of Additional Director General of the Ministry of Health, said that the organization is helping the disabled to make their future.

Chief guest City Magistrate Anand Kumar Singh said that donors are like gods. Organization’s Vice President Anil Agarwal, ASP Mayank Tiwari were present on the stage. The patron of the institution, Ramsharan Mittal, presided over. Operation was done by Dr. Munishwar Gupta, Rinesh Mittal. Cooperation was given by CK Gupta, and Shailendra Narwar.

Vimal Yadav, a resident of Prayagraj, said that he prepared for banking after getting a scholarship from the institution. Presently he is getting a salary of Rs.35000 per month in the bank. Vishal Rajput of Modi Nagar Ghaziabad also shared his experiences. Prahlad Chauhan of Barabanki said that the organization provided him a sports wheelchair. Because of which he is winning medals at university and national level in Para Badminton.

Beneficiaries studying medical and engineering

Joint Secretary of the organization Sunil Vikal told that out of 58 students who were given scholarship, 16 engineering, 5 medical, 4 PhD, 11 graduate, 6 masters, 4 BEd, 2-2 Master of Fine Art and LLB, 1- 1 studying MCA, MBA, Master of Visual Art, MSW, MD, BPharm, LLM, Bachelor of Optometry courses.
