Ajmer: For the first time in Rajasthan, a craft market will be set up by a rural non-farm development organization. It will be launched on the first day of Shardiya Navratri on September 26 at Pratap Auditorium in Alwar. Here at one place, unmatched handicrafts of different states will be available at reasonable prices.
60 stalls of various products in the market
Nalini Kathotia, Managing Director of Rural Non-Agriculture Development Society (RUDA), told that from September 26 to October 2, a seven-day Shilpangan Craft Market will be organized at Pratap Auditorium, Alwar. In this, about 60 stalls of various products will be set up by artisans from Rajasthan and other states. The craft market will operate daily from 11 am to 9 pm. Entry will be free for visitors with the cradle of Kovid guidelines.

Kathotia said that in the exhibition, Khurja’s pottery, Saharanpur furniture, Banarasi sarees, dry flowers of West Bengal and Nagaland, Punjab’s unique collection of handicrafts from the states of West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Nagaland etc. Falkari, Chanderi sarees of Madhya Pradesh, Pokaran terracotta, Blue pottery and Bandhej of Pink city, hand printing on traditional clothes of Rajwada era, Kumbhakari art, leather and stone art items etc. will be exhibited and sold by the artisans.
Efforts to promote handmade products
Managing Director Nalini said that the main objective of the fair is to provide a marketing platform to the handicraft artisans for the display and sale of their products so that the traditional hand made products are promoted. Along with this, the attraction of the general public and the livelihood of handicraft artisans should be increased. He told that this fair will be a unique amalgamation of unique products and artwork of artisans with national emotional unity.
