Due to route diversion in Varanasi city for VVIP tour, there was jam at various places on Friday evening. Samenghat, Lanka, Sunderpur, Chitaipur, Bhikharipur, Manduwadih areas remained in the grip of jam. Due to this people had to face a lot of problems. Ambulances were also stuck near Manduwadih intersection. Many corporator candidates had taken out a bike rally, due to which the traffic system further deteriorated.

After the end of the program of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who came to Kashi Tamil Sangamam on Friday evening, suddenly the traffic system collapsed due to heavy pressure of vehicles on the road. The situation of jam remained for two hours in the evening at Lanka intersection. Vehicles were stuck in jam towards Lanka-Samaneghat, Lanka-Naria, Lanka-Ravidas Gate.

Traffic police and local police personnel somehow ended the jam. Traffic was stopped at various places half an hour before the arrival and departure of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. From the airport to BHU, the police remained alert and the policemen remained alert to ensure that there was no negligence on the route.
