Nagpur, District and Sessions Judge SM Azmi convicted the accused who stabbed and injured a youth with the intention of robbery and sentenced him to 7 years imprisonment. Ganeshpeth police had registered a case under sections 394 and 397 against Pawan Santosh Shahu (20), a resident of Dolipuri, Raipur. Shravan Mahadev Meshram (35), a resident of Rambagh, was standing near Naka No. 13 on the evening of August 8, 2017. Meanwhile, the accused came to him and demanded money.

When Shravan refused to give the money, Pawan forcefully tried to withdraw the money from his pocket. On protesting, Pawan injured him by stabbing him. He informed the police about the incident. Ganeshpeth police arrested Pawan. The then API Anil Taksande investigated and filed a charge sheet in the court. Public prosecutor Anand Thackeray succeeded in proving the charges. Constables Suresh Ingale and Yograj Shukla cooperated as lobbying officers.
