Farmer Rihanuddin, a resident of Bhojpur in Moradabad, was murdered in a dispute over the eviction of his house. On Monday, the police arrested the farmer’s tenant Adil and his cousin Alim and another Nahid and disclosed the murder case. Adil is among the accused named in the case. The killers have confessed to carrying out the murder in the police interrogation.
SSP Hemraj Meena told in a press conference in the police line that the dead body of farmer Rihanuddin (53), a resident of Zamidaran Mohalla of Bhojpur, was found on February 17 in the forest of Niwadkhas village of Bhagatpur police station area.
The post-mortem report revealed that the killers had put a bike wheel on his chest and crushed his head with a brick, while he was also strangulated with the cord of his pyjama. Rihanuddin’s brother Kamaruddin had filed a case against three unknowns including Naeemuddin, his son Arbazuddin, Kamil Rafi, Saeed, Irfan, Adil’s son Khalil in this case.
The names of the named accused Adil and Aleem Baig and Nahid, residents of Malhupura in Bhagatpur, have come to light in the case. The police arrested all three. On interrogation, all three have confessed to the crime. Accused Adil told that he has been living in Rihanuddin’s house on rent for ten years. Now Rihanuddin was asking to vacate the house.
