The High Court has stayed the trial in the Usar Chatti case going on in the Ghazipur court against Mafia don and former member of the Legislative Council Brijesh Singh. The High Court has given this order on the petition of Tribhuvan Singh. Justice DK Singh is hearing the case. The court has sought response from the mafia Mukhtar Ansari and the state government in this matter within four weeks.
A petition was filed on behalf of Tribhuvan Singh to shift the hearing of the famous Usrchatti case from Ghazipur to another district. It was argued that Ghazipur is a district under the influence of Mafia Mukhtar Ansari. His brother is an MP from here. Son and nephew are MLAs. There may be danger to the lives of the witnesses during the prosecution in its trial. In view of this, the trial should be transferred to another district.
Please tell that in the Usrachatti case, Mafia Mukhtar Ansari is the plaintiff. Brijesh Singh and Tribhuvan Singh have been made accused. Mukhtar Ansari’s convoy was attacked on 15 July 2001. The hearing of the case is going on for a long time.
