Wardha, The city council administration has started a campaign since January to recover the arrears of tax on property holders in the city. Notices have been sent to more than 1,200 arrears holders, in which tax of Rs 1 crore 13 lakh was collected in the last one month.
The NP administration has the responsibility of providing basic facilities to the residents of the city, to complete it smoothly, the income from property tax is very important, according to the funds available through tax, it is easy to make provisions from the developmental point of view of the city in the coming year, but Many property holders do not pay taxes regularly, as a result, efforts are being made to fulfill the target of tax collection by campaigning on behalf of the city council administration in March.
This year 60 percent tax recovery is due
In the financial year 2022-23, the dues to the NP administration and starting in this way, the total tax collection target is around 20 crore 78 lakh 50 thousand 251 rupees, out of which the target is to collect about 60% tax, this outstanding tax will be collected by the NP administration by 31st March. It is worth mentioning that in January, under the tax recovery campaign, Rs 1.13 crore tax has been collected in one month.
Total 25,841 property holders
There are a total of 25,841 property holders, out of which about 100 property holders have outstanding tax of more than Rs 1 lakh, while tax of more than Rs 20,000 is outstanding on more than 1 thousand people, despite sending notices to all, the NP administration has not paid the tax. As a result, now the tax collection is being done strictly by the NAP squad by reaching the houses of the arrears.
