Pro. In the fifth convocation of Rajendra Singh (Rajju Bhaiya) State University, 150 medals will be distributed to 145 meritorious students. It is special that daughters have captured 62 percent of the medals. The convocation ceremony will be held on December 20 at 10.30 am at the university campus in Naini. Anurag Rai, a BCA student at the United Institute of Management, will be presented with three gold medals including the Chancellor’s. Padma Vibhushan Dr. Krishnaswamy Kasturirangan, former chairman of ISRO, will be the chief guest of the ceremony, while Governor Anandi Ben Patel will preside over. Minister of State for Higher Education Rajni Tiwari will attend the function as a special guest.

State University Vice Chancellor Prof. Akhilesh Kumar Singh said that 57 medals will be given to 54 boys and 93 medals to 91 girl students. A total of 150 medals include one Chancellor’s Medal, 44 Gold, 46 Silver, 55 Bronze, two Gulati Gold Medals and two Student Philanthropist Vishal Dutta Donor Medals. Out of 44 gold medals, 21 medals will be given to boys and 23 to girl students. Whereas, out of 46 silver medals, 17 medals will be given to boys and 29 to girl students.

Apart from this, out of 55 bronze medals, 16 medals will be given to boys and 39 medals to girl students. Along with this, degrees will be distributed to 131125 students who have passed graduation (UG) and post graduation (PG). A total of 14557 degrees will be awarded in PG, including 5902 boys and 8655 girls. The Vice-Chancellor said that the huge difference in these figures is giving a clear indication that girls are progressing fast in higher education.

At the same time, even in graduation, daughters are close to equal. 116568 titles will be distributed in UG, including 61685 boys and 54883 girls. In such a situation, 47 percent of the students who have received the bachelor’s degree are girls. At the same time, out of four donor medals given to four students, two medals will be given to daughters.

Names of all 22 medal daughters in six courses

There are six courses in which 22 medals will be awarded to meritorious students and all these medals have gone to the account of daughters. All six medals in Bachelor of Arts, three medals each in Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Education and Post Basic Bachelor of Science in Nursing and all four medals in Master of Library and Information Science will go to daughters.

Student friendly medal for the first time
For the first time, two Student Benevolent Vishal Dutta Donor Medals will be awarded at the convocation. These medals will be given to Riddhi Srivastava and Yash Gupta. At the same time, Rambhulai Gulati to Anurag Rai and Shivramdas Gulati Donor Gold Medal to Juhi Malviya.

There will be cycling facility in the campus

Under the Green Campus, free cycling facility will be made available to the students in the state university campus. The distance from the main gate to the academic building is about two kilometers. A stand for 25 cycles will be made at the gate and there will be a stand for 25 cycles outside the academic building as well. Chhatra Cycles will be able to cover the distance between Main Gate and Academic Building with these cycles only. It will be inaugurated on the day of convocation.

Multipurpose hall will be inaugurated
A multi-purpose hall will also be inaugurated on the day of convocation of the state university. Academic, sports and cultural activities will be conducted in this. Indoor games will be arranged in the multi-purpose hall, in which sports events like table tennis, badminton, basketball, boxing will be held.

Convocation ceremony of Open University today
The 17th convocation ceremony of Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University will be held on December 19 at 11 am at the Atal Auditorium located in the Saraswati campus. Governor Anandi Ben Patel will preside over the function and will deliver the convocation address. 23 gold medals will be awarded to the meritorious in the function. Along with this, degrees will be given to 20 thousand students. Vice Chancellor Prof. Seema Singh reviewed the preparations for the ceremony on Sunday. In view of the arrival of the Governor, the administrative officials stayed at the venue till late night. Throughout the day, the campus was buzzing with the presence of students coming from all over the state to attend the convocation. By the evening 400 registered students received Angavastrams.
