In the session of Bharatiya Kisan Union Tikait faction on Sunday, the farmers shouted on 21 issues including minimum support price. The direction of other activities, including the movement to be held in the next six months, will be decided in the session which will continue till January 18. In this sequence, the national spokesperson, who arrived late in the evening, announced to take out a tractor march on 26 January.
The formal beginning of the five-day convention of the Union at the Parade Ground in the Mela area was on Saturday itself. After the arrival of other senior leaders including Rakesh Tikait on Sunday, farmers expressed their displeasure towards the government regarding the legal guarantee of MSP, payment of sugarcane farmers, lawsuits against farmers etc. in the day-long meetings.
