Devotees coming to Prayagraj will now be able to see Sangam, Akshayavat, Saraswati Koop apart from Magh Mela and Kumbh Mela by cable car. For the first time, cable car service will be available here for saints-devotees and tourists. Before the Mahakumbh, work has started on the plan to gift the ropeway to the tourists of the country and the world. For this, three ropeway stations will be built between Jhunsi and Arail. It is estimated that more than Rs 60 crore will be spent on this scheme.
Its blueprint has been presented by the tourism department. Recently, Kumbh Mela Adhikari Vijay Kiran Anand had presented the proposal of ropeway scheme at Sangam in front of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at I Triplesi Auditorium of Prayagraj Mela Authority. At present, the cable car will be run on PPP model for devotees-tourists. For this, ropeway stations will be built near Someshwar Mahadev besides Ulta Qila in Jhunsi, Triveni Pushp Complex in Arail.
A survey has been done to construct a station near Someshwar Mahadev. According to the plan, the government will provide land for this. The rest of the work will have to be done by the contracting company. The company will also be responsible for fixing the fare and making arrangements for the operation of the cable car.
Under this scheme of the tourism department, 20-25 tourists will be able to visit Sangam at one go by cable car. Tourists will be able to visit Sangam within just 10 to 15 minutes from these stations. Selected and experienced ropeway operator companies have been contacted for the operation of this scheme to be prepared on PPP model.
