Asad, son of Atiq Ahmed, who is wanted in the Umesh Pal murder case, had stepped into the world of Jarayam only six months ago. He took over the command of the Atiq gang after brothers Ali and Umar surrendered and went to jail. He used to give orders to the henchmen just like Atiq. Those close to the mafia used to call him Chhote and he used to operate the gang from a flat in the metropolis of Lucknow.
The flat from which the gang used to operate, a team of STF Lucknow and Prayagraj police had raided this flat last days. It was only after this that the police came to know that Asad has taken over the command of the gang and this gang is running various businesses including demanding extortion. In fact, the police have received a check of Rs 80 lakh from the flat.
