Pimpri: The Hinjewadi Police of Pimpri-Chinchwad has achieved success in cracking down on the interstate gang which carries out burglary incidents by conducting Reiki morning and evening. This gang had committed theft of 119 tola gold jewelery and cash worth three lakh rupees in just two minutes. Three accused have been arrested from Maharashtra and Gujarat in this case. In the enquiry, 48 cases came to light. 71 tola gold jewelery and cash worth eight lakh have been recovered.
Ajay Sarja Nanavat (27), Kanhaiya Vijay Rathod (19), Asha Rajubhai Thakkar (Ahmedabad, Gujarat) have been arrested by the police in this case. The search is on for his Mohan, Anirudh Yogesh Rathod alias Nanavat and two other accomplices. On December 24, this gang broke into the house of Popat Chandere and carried out the theft of 119 tola gold jewelery and cash worth Rs 2,90,000.
Investigation of more than 57 CCTV
Giving information about this, Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr. Kakasaheb Dole said that during the investigation of the incident, the Hinjawadi police scanned the footage of more than 57 CCTV cameras installed in the area. In this, the news of two accused coming to Hinjewadi Phase III was received. Accordingly, after laying a trap, both were taken into custody and interrogated. He along with his gang confessed to having carried out 48 incidents of burglary in Pune district.

Used to do Reiki before theft
The arrested accused told the police that they used to commit thefts late in the night after conducting recce twice in the evening and night before committing the theft.
