While crossing the Matkutta railway crossing on the PDDU Nagar-Gaya rail route, the engine of the goods train derailed at 9.45 pm on Sunday night. Due to which the up line got interrupted. However, the movement of passenger trains from the third line continued. At the same time, due to the closure of the railway crossing, there was a long queue of vehicles on both sides. After the information, the high officials of the railway reached the spot. Efforts are on to get the engine back on track.
A goods train with 59 wagons was coming from Akodha towards PDDU Junction. The goods train was crossing the Matkutta railway crossing at quarter to nine on Sunday night. Suddenly the front part of the loco engine derailed. Due to this the goods train stopped at the railway crossing itself. The loco pilot informed the control about this. As soon as the information about the derailment of the goods train engine was received, there was a stir among the railway officials.
Demand to build railway overbridge in Matkutta Officers of the concerned department and divisional level officers reached the spot along with the Ananphanan relief vehicle. At the same time, due to the closure of the crossing, there was a jam on the Alinagar-Sakaldiha road. People stuck in the jam said that the demand for construction of railway overbridge at Matkutta has been pending for a long time.
The closure of gates during the movement of trains often leads to jams. Due to derailment of the engine on Sunday night, people had to take another route. There heavy vehicles are waiting for the gate to open.
