Pimpri: People’s apathy is not going away after repeated extension of time for regularization of illegal tap connections. Its last date has been fixed as 31 December. Till then, reiterating the appeal to apply for regularization of illegal domestic tap connections of 15 mm diameter, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has warned that from January 1, illegal tap connections will be cut. Along with speeding up the action, a criminal case will be registered against the concerned.

Giving information about this, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s water supply department’s co-city engineer Shrikant Sawane said that keeping in mind the complaints of the citizens of the city regarding unauthorized tap connections, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has A special drive is being launched to regularize unauthorized tap connections. To increase the effectiveness of this campaign and more and more citizens can get its benefit, the campaign to regularize the taps has been expanded.

Criminal case will be registered from January 1

Resident unauthorized tap holders of 15 mm diameter under regularization who fit the criteria should avail this last chance to regularize their tap connections. For this, an application will have to be submitted in the prescribed form at the nearest civic facility center by December 31 and for more information about this, contact the water supply department of the concerned regional office. Co-City Engineer Savane has warned that from January 1, 2023, a campaign will be launched against unauthorized tap connections and action will be taken to register a criminal case against unauthorized tap holders from January 1.
