Officers and employees of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation complete Distance Courses of Engineering, Technology, B-Tech, DCE, ME, MTech and Technical Education through Deemed University and Central Public University outside the State. Then on the basis of such degree and diploma, the concerned officers and employees are demanded for promotion from the municipal administration.

Therefore, various orders of the State Government regarding recognition of degrees or diplomas obtained through distance technical education courses from universities outside Maharashtra were studied.

After studying the government orders, the municipal administration has concluded that this study will not accept degrees or diplomas from unrecognized universities and educational institutions outside the state. Municipal commissioner Shekhar Singh has decided that degree, diploma, master’s degree, engineering courses and technology courses from universities outside the state will not be considered for promotion. All the officers and employees of the Municipal Corporation have been informed about this.
