Former minister Partha Chatterjee has been sent to judicial custody till October 5 in the SSC recruitment scam case in West Bengal. The special CBI court on Wednesday rejected Chatterjee’s bail application.

3 more arrested along with Chatterjee
Three people have been sent to judicial custody along with Chatterjee. These include Kalyanmoy Ganguly, former chairman of the Bengal Board of Secondary Education, Ashok Saha, former secretary of the School Service Commission and its former advisor SP Sinha. The CBI had arrested Ganguly on September 15.

Parth was sent to remand on 16 September
Chatterjee was sent to CBI remand till Wednesday by the special court on 16 September. The agency had told the court that Chatterjee is yet to be questioned in the teacher recruitment scam case.

The CBI is investigating the case following the order of the Calcutta High Court. Chatterjee and his aide Arpita Mukherjee were arrested by the ED. ED is probing the SSC recruitment scam.

Chatterjee should get bail: Parth’s lawyer
The CBI told the court that Parth is not cooperating in the investigation of the case. Many things are yet to be investigated. So Parth should be sent to jail. Parth’s lawyer said that his client should be granted bail as he is 70 years old. are sick. But none of his arguments was accepted by the court.

Was arrested by ED on July 23, accused of money laundering
On July 23, the ED arrested Parth from his official residence in Kolkata on charges of money laundering in the teacher recruitment scam. Parth was accused of taking money in lieu of giving him a job while he was a minister. 5 days after Parth’s arrest, Mamta Banerjee sacked him from the cabinet.

Parth said – has been framed, let him live in peace by giving bail
Filing an affidavit in the court, Parth said, ‘I have been implicated under a political conspiracy. I was also the Leader of the Opposition before being a minister. ED stayed at my bungalow for more than 24 hours, but did not find anything. I should be given bail so that I can live in peace.

Parth further said, ‘I have fully cooperated with the ED’s interrogation so far and will continue to do so. I myself have been a law student and have got a scholarship during the British era. Why would I scam? I haven’t eaten a single rupee.’

ED bid – Parth is not cooperating, more disclosures are yet to be made in the case
Opposing the bail, the ED said that Parth was not cooperating in the interrogation. The scam is more than 100 crores and there are still many revelations left in it, so bail should not be given. Bail will also affect witnesses and evidence.

Rs 49 crore cash was found from Arpita’s flats
Arpita’s two flats were raided by the ED on July 23 and July 28. In this action Rs 49 crore cash was recovered from their flats. ED sources told the media that Arpita said during interrogation – I have no idea about the money, all the money belongs to Parth. However, Parth kept denying all these allegations during interrogation.

Two accused, 6 companies and 14 thousand pages of chargesheet
ED files first chargesheet in Bengal’s SSC recruitment scam. The 14 thousand-page chargesheet filed in the PMLA court names six companies – Ichhe Entertainment, Symbiosis Merchants, Aapa Utility Services, Anant Texfab, Viewmore Highrise, Sentry Engineering and two accused Partha Chatterjee and Arpita Mukherjee.

The ED has registered a complaint against eight accused, including Partha Chatterjee and Arpita Mukherjee, in the teacher recruitment scam at PMLA Special Court, Kolkata.

In the chargesheet, the ED claimed that Parth earned huge money through illegal means, which he hid in Arpita Mukherjee’s house. This money was earned from illegal activities and scams apart from teacher recruitment scam. With this money the property was bought in the name of Arpita.
