Dehradun : The construction work of the dangerous building at Joshimath in Uttarakhand, which is bearing the brunt of nature, has resumed from Saturday. Due to bad weather, the work would have been stopped on Friday.

In Joshimath, which is considered to be the entrance of Badrinath and Hemkund or pilgrimage places, for the last few days, there are large number of types of buildings being torn down, land being drained, soil being washed away. Therefore, the complex question of the living and financial security of the citizens has arisen. Keeping in mind the safety of the citizens, the administration has taken up the campaign of demolishing the dangerous buildings. Only bitter cold and snowfall would have stopped the work on Friday. Due to slight improvement in the weather, the work was resumed on Saturday. Malari Inn and Mount View, both hotels, the construction of a building of the Public Works Department was resumed on Saturday, this information was given by the Secretary of the Disaster Management Department, Ranjit Kumar Sinha. That’s why the sound of bulldozers, drilling machines once again reverberated in Joshimath on Saturday.

Pushkarsingh Dhami government is giving priority to provide alternative relief to the local people who have been affected due to land grab, it has been said in the official newspaper. Accordingly, heaters and blowers have been supplied to 76 families, warm clothes have been provided to 110 people, hot water bottles to 175 people, caps to 516 people, socks to 280 people and shawls to 196 people, this information has been given.

Apart from this, 771 residents have been provided food bags, 601 blankets and 114 people have been provided with daily household items, as well as leaflets.

Due to loss of land, 863 families of Joshimath have lost their land. In the background, 274 families here have been shifted to temporary shelter centers, the administration gave such information.
