BCCI Introduce Imact Player Rule: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has come up with a new rule for T20 cricket. After this rule brought by the BCCI, now the team can go on the field with more players instead of 11. The name of this rule is the Impact Player Rule. However, this rule is already applicable in sports like football and hockey before cricket. BCCI will implement this new rule in the first domestic tournament. If this rule becomes successful, then it will be implemented in IPL 2023 as well.
What is Impact Player Rules
According to the Impact Player rule, the role of extra players in the match will increase. Under this, when the match is tossed, during that time the captains of both the teams will tell the list of the names of the players of their playing XI along with the option of four substitute players. Of these four substitute players, only one player can be used as an impact player. However, it is not necessary that any team should use Impact Player.
At the same time, the impact player can be used at any time before the completion of the 14th over of any innings. Apart from this, if the Impact player joins the team in place of any player, then he will be out of the whole match and will not be able to take the field again during that match under any condition.

This new Impact Player rule of BCCI is known as X Factor in Australia’s Big Bash League. Under which a maximum of 13 players can play. At the same time, information is also coming out that if the Impact Player rule of BCCI becomes successful in domestic cricket tournaments, then it can be implemented in IPL 2023. The BCCI has sent a circular to all the states under this rule, in which it has been said that in view of the increasing popularity of T20 cricket, now there is a preparation to bring something new. Through this, this format can be made more interesting for the players and teams along with the fans.
