Akola, In the year 2022-23, online registration has been started by the government for the purchase of gram at guaranteed prices. Registration starts in about a week. This process has been started by NAFED to buy gram from the farmers. This process is being expedited by the DMO office of NAFED. Earlier registration was started at 6 procurement centers in the district, now four more centers have been started, in this way now registration for purchase of gram has started at 10 centers due to which farmers are feeling relieved. This process starts online. Due to the commencement of the registration process for purchase by NAFED, farmers have stopped selling gram at the private level. From February 24, orders had come from the government for online registration for gram purchase, but due to technical reasons, this process has started a few days late. From Wednesday, four centers have been started in Thar, Vivara, Belkhed and Andura. In this way, now farmers are getting registered for the purchase of gram at 10 centers. This time, due to excessive rains and return rains, there was a huge loss of Kharif crops and due to the decrease in production, the farming class is in economic crisis. But due to excessive rains, this time due to deep moisture in the ground, a nutritious environment was created for rabi crops. Similarly, sufficient water was accumulated in all the water projects and the ground water level was also very good, due to which the area under sowing of rabi crops has also increased and gram has also been sown in a large area. According to the information, gram was sown in about 1 lakh 10 thousand hectare area. But in the private market, the farmers were not getting the price they should have got for gram. For this reason, farmers were demanding from the government that gram should be purchased at guaranteed prices.

According to the information, more than 6 thousand 250 farmers have registered online till Wednesday at the 6 centers initially started by the DMO office of NAFED at the prices guaranteed by the government. Now continuous registration has started for the purchase of gram by farmers at 10 centers of NAFED. Farmers say that along with online registration, the government should also start direct purchase of gram. This demand is being made by the government. Farmers say that due to delay in procurement, farmers may have to sell gram to private traders under compulsion. If this happens, there will be a lot of loss to the farmers, so the farmers have demanded from Nafed that the purchase of gram should be started immediately.
